When LSEG invited us to help mark Black History Month, we knew this was more than a commemorative moment, it was a chance to tell a story that echoed across generations. Together, we set out to create a film that honoured the past while looking firmly to the future, weaving themes of legacy, empowerment, and identity into a piece that would resonate on a personal and collective level. At the heart of the film was the powerful voice of Dr. Makaziwe Mandela, whose presence brought gravity and grace to the Closing Market Ceremony. Working closely with the LSEG team, we shaped a narrative that celebrated progress while sparking meaningful reflection—pairing evocative storytelling with bold visual language to capture the spirit of the occasion. Premiered as part of LSEG’s official Black History Month programming, the film became a poignant centrepiece of the event, creating space for dialogue, recognition, and continued commitment to equity and inclusion.
